- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I have need to drive through the town centre via Eastgate past the butter cross on my left,now at the narrow knock of Eastgate next to the chemists is a pedestrian crossing (east side of the butter cross),its not unusual to find cars parked has you approach the crossing and there be the problem its very dark at the crossing even worse when raining you do not see people especially if in dark clothing stepping onto the crossing,people generally just step out without looking from behind the building either side and its a wonder nobody has bee n knocked down,is it possible to get some sort of lighting fitted onto the corner to illuminate the crossing?would also be nice to have a warning notice but would they bother to take notice I guess not.other option would be a pelican crossing!but certainly if you in ave a drive down eastgate towards the Butter Cross on a winters late afternoon about four fourty you will understand my worries.By Admin, July 02, 2020
